A dyeing factory specializing in Kyoto black dye. For the water which is a necessity when dyeing, they use underground water called Yanagi water which Sen no Rikyu used to make tea.
A dyeing factory specializing in Kyoto black dye.Crest dyeing used in the black color of a hand towel was founded in the 17th century and in the Edo era,
clothing with a black family crest using a plant dye called Binrouji was lovingly used among the Samurai's. The silk fabric was made so strong that Tannin in the dye would not even let a sword penetrate,
hence it was used for self-protection: Such an interesting storyline was used for this black dye. Using well water which Sen no Rikyu used to make tea, the black color is special: dyed using traditional Kyoto dyeing technique.
The result is a deep black color known as a crow's wet wing. The white fabric has its base and logo reversed as opposed to the black fabric. Making the size smaller than a hand towel, ease of use similar to a handkerchief was thought after.
